Ezekiel Chapter 47
- Ezekiel 47:1 Afterward he
brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters
issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for
the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters
came down from under from the right side of the house, at the
south side of the altar.
- 2 Then brought he
me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the
way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh
eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.
- 3 And when the man
that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a
thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the
waters were to the ankles.
- 4 Again he measured
a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were
to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me
through; the waters were to the loins.
- 5 Afterward he
measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass
over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that
could not be passed over.
- 6 And he said unto
me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and
caused me to return to the brink of the river.
- 7 Now when I had
returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees
on the one side and on the other.
- 8 Then said he unto
me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down
into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth
into the sea, the waters shall be healed.
- 9 And it shall come
to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth,
whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall
be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall
come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall
live whither the river cometh.
Even the waters of the dead sea will
probably be healed. Everywhere these waters go there will be a
healing.
This shows that God really prefers to
bless and do good things for His people. The whole 1000 year reign
of Christ seems to be to show Israel and through them the whole
world what it is like to trust in God and have Him in control of all
things.
Here we see the fishing trade will
flourish and be good. There will be no one starving during the reign
of Christ. Israel will be the nation that rules and blesses the
whole earth as they were intended to do from the days of Abraham.
God's promise to Abraham was to inherit
the land of promise. Israel has never yet received all the land
promised to them. During the reign of Christ, they will receive all
that God promised Abraham.
Through Abraham
- Genesis 17:5 Neither shall
thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be
Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
- 6 And I will
make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee,
and kings shall come out of thee.
- 7 And I will
establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after
thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a
God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
- 8 And I will
give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein
thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting
possession; and I will be their God.
I love that last phrase: I will be their God.
- Genesis 22:17 That in
blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply
thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is
upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his
enemies;
- 18 And in thy
seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou
hast obeyed my voice.
Those of us that are not of Israel are
blessed by the same Lord Jesus our Christ if we live for Him and
obey His voice. He never left the believing Gentiles out of His
salvation.
- Genesis 12:2 And I will
make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy
name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
- 3 And I will
bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and
in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
God promised Abraham that he will be
blessed and his seed after him. Israel was his grandson and the
promised passed to Israel. Through Israel the whole world will be
blessed materially and spiritually.
They are blessed spiritually through
the Messiah, Jesus Christ who came through the lineage of David and
the seed of Israel just as prophesied. Israel could have had all this before
but sin caused their land to be taken away until the end times.
The sin of idolatry is grievous and
warned about many times in both the Old and New Testament.
We must get rid of idols in the church
today and have no part of images that we bow down to even if they
represent God, Jesus or Mary. Get rid of them. Evil deceiving
spirits are behind every idol. They make us feel religious and think
we are right with God but it is a false god. God forbids us to use
images in our worship of Him.
We are to worship God in spirit and in
truth. Israel was cursed many times because of
the sin of idolatry and lusting after Babylonian ways.
The church during the Middle Ages also
mixed with Babylonian religion and lost their way for a season. God
and Babylon do not mix. We must avoid all false religion and find
the real God through faith in Jesus Christ.
We must worship Him in spirit and in
truth. Setting up idols, images and icons to represent God is very
dangerous and leads us to worshipping devils, not God. Its so
deceptive that we fail to recognize it for what it is.
False religions prevail only when first
Israel and then the church backslide and get away from the truth. We
have a great responsibility to stay on course, follow the Lord with
all our hearts and not depart from the written word.
The description of worship during the
Millennium show us the way it was meant to be for Israel.
This precedes the final end when there
will be a New Heaven and New Earth which God and the Son Jesus
Christ reigns eternal and there will no longer be a need for the
temple.
For this time period it is set up for
all natural people living at this time have not yet been saved or
"born again" by the spirit of God. This is the final trial period
for mankind to see what life under the lordship of a righteous ruler
will be like.
- Ezekiel 47:10 And it shall
come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from En-gedi
even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets;
their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the
great sea, exceeding many.
- 11 But the miry
places thereof and the marshes thereof shall not be healed; they
shall be given to salt.
This shows us the environmental
importance of marshes and miry places.
-
Ezekiel 47:12 And by the river upon
the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all
trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the
fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit
according to his months, because their waters they issued out of
the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the
leaf thereof for medicine.
Look at this part here. During the
reign of Christ there is plenty of food, healing and even medicine.
This is how it is meant to be. Sin has prevented the earth from
bearing perfect fruit. Sin keeps out healing and good blessings from
God.
Again the definition of sin is
transgression against the law God set up. Sin is rebellion against
God's laws. Sin separates us from God which is why Jesus had to come
and offer Himself up as a sacrifice for our sin. When we repent of
sin and turn to Christ, we are reconciled to God and brought back
into His fellowship.
All who have received Christ before
this time period comes, are with Him now, ruling and reigning with
Him. The rest of the earth have not all come and believed as yet;
and I believe that is why this type of system is set up.
I don't claim to understand everything
and I may get a few things wrong but I encourage all of us to search
out these things and study the scriptures to discover truth and
learn more of God. James says that if any man lack wisdom,
let him ask of God.
- Ezekiel 47:13 Thus saith the
Lord GOD; This shall be the border, whereby ye shall inherit the
land according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have
two portions.
- 14 And ye shall
inherit it, one as well as another: concerning the which I
lifted up mine hand to give it unto your fathers: and this land
shall fall unto you for inheritance.
- 15 And this shall
be the border of the land toward the north side, from the great
sea, the way of Hethlon, as men go to Zedad;
- 16 Hamath, Berothah,
Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border
of Hamath; Hazarhatticon, which is by the coast of Hauran.
- 17 And the border
from the sea shall be Hazar-enan, the border of Damascus, and
the north northward, and the border of Hamath. And this is the
north side.
- 18 And the east
side ye shall measure from Hauran, and from Damascus, and from
Gilead, and from the land of Israel by Jordan, from the border
unto the east sea. And this is the east side.
- 19 And the south
side southward, from Tamar even to the waters of strife in Kadesh, the river to the great sea. And this is the south side
southward.
- 20 The west side
also shall be the great sea from the border, till a man come
over against Hamath. This is the west side.
- 21 So shall ye
divide this land unto you according to the tribes of Israel.
Despite what the world says and what
even some churches teach, God has not forsaken Israel. Each tribe
will be restored the land originally promised to Abraham. During the
Millennium, they will live in peace and nothing shall hinder them
from receiving all that was promised to them.
- Ezekiel 47:22 And it shall
come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance
unto you, and to the strangers that sojourn among you, which
shall beget children among you: and they shall be unto you as
born in the country among the children of Israel; they shall
have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.
- 23 And it shall
come to pass, that in what tribe the stranger sojourneth, there
shall ye give him his inheritance, saith the Lord GOD.
God even provides for the people that
abide with Israel that are considered Gentiles or non-Israelis. What
a wonderful God we have. We see His healing and His care for all
during this time.
This occurs after the latter day great
tribulation and time of Jacob's trouble that shall try all that
dwell upon the earth. We see here the time after that when Jesus has
returned with His saints and He sets up a kingdom of righteousness
greater than any kingdom before.
After this 1000 year reign another test
comes when Satan is set free for a short time. The bible does not
say how long. It is to see who will rebel with Satan and who will
stay faithful to Christ.
Those that have already made the 1st
resurrection and are reigning with Christ will not be affected by
the release of Satan. They cannot be tempted or harmed any longer.
In other words, they already made it and have received their reward
and their new bodies which can never die.
When Satan is set free he can only deceive
the natural people living at the time, not those that have already
been through the 1st resurrection.
-
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is
he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second
death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of
Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
