Isaiah Chapter 59
Here we have biblical proof of the cause of unanswered prayer. Sin. Sin will separate us from God. This is why we need a savior and a intercessor. This is the whole purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ the first time. To make a supreme sacrifice for sins. He made a perfect offering. Jesus had no sin and there was nothing to hinder God from hearing His prayers. He actually prayed for our salvation and redemption. He made the perfect intervention. He interceded on behalf of all those who heard the word, believed the word and received the word. The engrafted word of God and faith in the Son, Jesus Christ causes the soul to be saved from the curse of sin and death. We, who believe in Jesus Christ, turn from sins and come to Christ, will have eternal life. The sins are under the blood of Jesus Christ. Now we have nothing to separate us from God.
This was the state of Israel at the time of Isaiah. They were doing much iniquity. They shed innocent blood, spoke lies, did not call for fairness and justice and were drifting far from the law of God. This reminds me of the world today also. Shedding of innocent blood is going on all over the world. Whole nations are driving out people from their homes, killing the innocent unborn children still within the mother's womb, and the killing of whole tribes of people. Hatred abounds, selfishness, and lack of moral decency prevails. We need God folks.
This is the result of sin. It is exactly like hatching cockatrice eggs and weaving spider's webs.
Innocent blood are those who have done no crime to warrant the death penalty. The only time in the bible that any nation is allowed to take another life is when a crime worthy of the death penalty according to the Law of Moses takes place. If the person, whether he or she is an unborn child or an elderly person terminally ill is put to death by the hands of human beings, it is murder. We have no right to take another life outside of the bounds of the law of God. We have no right to decide when a person or whether a person should die when they are innocent of capital crimes. No right whatsoever. Another exception to that is defending our nation when attacked by another, or self defense if someone attacks our home and threatens our families. We have no right to execute an unborn child just because they are unwanted and we can't afford to support them. They have done no evil to warrant a death penalty. Doctors have no right to take a life just because the person decides that he or she does not want to live any longer. That is not our decision to make. Sadly I've read many articles which informed us that abortion is encouraged in all stages of the pregnancy to harvest body organs and use cells to make vaccines or medical experiments. Sad. No, it is not your body and you have no right to do with your own body as you please. God created and gave you that body and it belongs to almighty God. We were bought with a price and created by the hand of God and we are not our own to do to ourselves what we please. That is a myth. That unborn child is a human being. We have no right to terminate his or her existence and stop their little beating hearts just because it is not convenient to take care of them. Some may say it will avoid child abuse later but isn't killing them and injecting saline solution into the womb, child abuse? Besides it has not cut down on child abuse. Child abuse and child sex trafficking is going on as I write.
Without the law of God and the fear of God there will never be peace. We keep talking peace but there will be none. We need the love of God abounding among us.
This is a perfect description of the results of sin in a nation. We run to and fro and are groping about in darkness. We are blind and cannot see. God is needed everywhere. We need His presence in our lives, in our families, in our communities, in our schools, in our nation.
This is the result of sin left unrepented of and unchecked. To confess and repent of sins is to forsake them, put them away and accept God's plan to rid us of sin. We need a savior from sin. That is why Jesus came the first time. Israel was looking of a savior to deliver them from surrounding enemies and oppressing nations. They were not looking for a savior to save them from sins. That is why they did not recognize Jesus as savior. He had to come first to save from sins and then at His Second Coming Israel will be the delivered from oppressing nations.
Here were some of the things that were separating men from God.
These things cause unfair judgments and the nation becomes a land with no justice. Evil continues to oppress, and destroy its inhabitants.
Those that did not do evil became a prey to those who did. This always displeases God. This reminds me of one who has been truly converted as opposed to one who is in rebellion. A new convert will want to please His Lord. He will rejoice to do His commandments. One in rebellion will begin to question: Is this really wrong? Do I have to give this up? One who truly loves God will have the attitude, "If God says it, that’s it, no arguments."
There was no intercessor before Jesus Christ came that was worthy to intercede on behalf of mankind. That is why God sent Jesus, the worthy and holy one, His only Son to be our intercessor. He was righteous and worthy to intercede on our behalf.
This describes this intercessor. He was clothed with righteousness. (Right living, holiness). Salvation was upon His head. Garments of vengeance probably represent vengeance against sin and evil. Sin and evil will not continue. It will be destroyed and cast out of the earth. Those that continue in sin and refuse the way of salvation will be destroyed and judged along with the sin that is to depart.
Enemies of righteousness, those in rebellion, those that oppose the righteousness will be destroyed and recompensed.
God will save those that trust in Him. Evil gets worse and worse, the enemy comes in like a flood of mighty waters but the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against Him.
Jesus Christ will come literally back to Zion unto Israel. He will deliver and save those that turn from their transgressions and receive Him.
They will forever belong to God and those also that receive the Lord that was not the actual seed of Israel. Actual Israel and adopted Israel will be united as one in Jesus Christ. We who are of the Gentile nations are adopted Israel when we repent of sins and come to Jesus Christ. We inherit the covenant through faith in Jesus. Natural Israel also is not permanently cut off but will be grafted in to their own natural vine when they wake up and recognize who Jesus is and repent of their rejection of Him in the past and receive Him as Lord and savior forever.
