Psalm Chapter 113
I sometimes think that if we did this literally from morning until night, it could never be enough. If we stop and think of all God has done for mankind, we would never cease to praise Him. First of all He created the earth perfectly. He placed a garden with various fruits for man to eat. He made animals so mankind would not be alone. He made man in His own image. Mankind is different than animals because of being in the image of God. We can think, make decisions, react with reason, govern, plan, invent and many other traits that are different from animals and similar to our God. We probably resemble God in physical appearance. Women are different but similar also to God. God provided everything for man to get along and enjoy life. He intended for us to live eternally. We were not meant to die. Yet God did not make a bunch of puppets. He made us with a free will. We were created not as creatures of instincts like the animals but creatures that could make decisions. We can choose right from wrong. When the human race chose to listen to someone other than their creator, sin entered the world and everything began to die. That which was meant to be forever started to die. Now the minute we are born into the world, we start to die. God loved the world. He made a plan first by sending the law by the hand of Moses to show what sin is and how holy God wants us to be. Sin kills. Sin destroys. The law showed us that we are sinners on the way to hell. Our bodies die but the soul goes to hell, a place for those that depart this life. The spirit returns to God who gave it. Because all have sinned, all are destined to hell. God loved the world. God sent His own Son to become one of us. Jesus became flesh and lived among us. Jesus did not break the law of God so He did not deserve to die. When He was crucified, His blood was shed and He was a sacrifice to die in our place. When we repent of sin and believe in what Jesus did for us, we are changed spiritually. We become "born again" by the spirit of God. The old law given by the hand of Moses doesn't condemn us anymore because the blood of Jesus covers all our sin and we become sinless or just as if we have never sinned. The law kills but Jesus makes us alive. Now, when our body dies, our soul and spirit both enter Heaven. We no longer have to go to hell. On the resurrection day, our bodies will be changed and meet our spirit and soul to live forever. God did this for us. He could have given up on us and cast us away forever but "God loved the world."
God has the power to change the life of the lowest, vilest and poorest of men or women.
God makes the impossible possible. Both Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, Sarah, the wife of Abraham, and Rachel the wife of Jacob among a few others were barren; God gave children to them. I've seen others who were barren blessed in another way by adopting children and giving homes to orphans. Still others receive children by their faithful service to the Lord. Their children are their converts that they have brought to the Lord. There have been countless people who could not have children that have given birth to children naturally by miracles from God and also by medical miracles which also are from God. God is good. All things are possible to those that fully trust in the Lord. So there are so many things to give thanks to God for. He did not leave us without hope, without salvation and without purpose. All we have to do to begin to understand these things is just to ask.
God desires all of us to be saved from sin and receive the Holy Spirit. It is ours for the asking. DC
